Golden titans

Huge ladles glide through the air, their bellies full of glowing metal. Then a splashing sound, disturbed by the occasional thump when metal at up to 1,200 degrees Celsius falls to the floor. Cast here: gigantic ship propellers which weigh up to 160 tonnes, some of which have diameters of over 11 metres. The company Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH (MMG) in Waren (Müritz) manufactures highly efficient propellers which power ships all over the world.
